The Dutch word ‘Fraai’ stands for all things fine and beautiful in life. Beauty comes in many shapes, forms and colors. Our Fraai-style is all about the imperfect perfections, merging Scandinavian vibes with Berlin’s inimitable charm.
Set your imagination Fraai, as you can customize each and every one of our solid wood furniture down to the tiniest detail. If you fell in love with something that you saw, but you’d need it in a different size, in a different finish or made out of a different wood, it’s good to keep in mind that at Fraai almost everything is possible.
We build furniture that comes with personality and that is meant to last for generations. This is why each of our products is handmade and also the reason why we use solid wood from Europe only of the highest quality.
Our oak, ash and birch are almost exclusively coming from sanitary felling or once have been so called wind wood, wood that’s been damaged by a storm, affected by pests or died of old age. All of our wood comes from European forests and is especially selected in the sawmill for Fraai Berlin.

Loving your furniture
We design and build every Fraai piece to be your partner in crime for life, even being passed on to generations. They can endure a lot, but that doesn’t mean they won’t appreciate getting some love & care for themselves every now and then.
Why is oiling or waxing your furniture important?
Applying a layer of oil or wax at least once a year is essential to revitalize wood and keep your furniture in good shape. We prefer to use natural oil. The invisible guardian – unlike lacquer, oil penetrates into the wood, letting it absorb less liquid thus lowering the chance of water, even red wine staining the furniture.

How to clean your furniture?
Keeping all wooden surfaces clean are essential for your furniture to have a long and happy life. For removing dust or crumbs, you can use a dry or slightly damp cloth. If something gets spilled on the wood, don’t worry it’s protected, just pat the surface with a clean, dry cloth.

How to protect your furniture?
There are a few little things that you can pay attention to in order to keep your Fraai piece as nice and pristine as possible throughout its whole life.
- Air humidity kept between 50% and 60% is ideal for the wood to work and minimizes the chances of developing cracks caused by shrinking.
- Avoid direct sunlight as wood can fade or discolor as a result of UV radiation.
- If you made it to this point, there is probably no need to say, but still, please, use coasters whenever you can
